Freeze Your Jeans

Freeze Your Jeans

We’re used to strange things being done to denim – stonewashing, pre-shrinking, destroying, etc – but how about freezing it? That’s the suggestion from Brazillian company Tristar.

Tristar’s new range of jeans is designed to be eco-friendly and is classified as organic, made from cotton grown without pesticides. In order to help you to be green as well Tristar recommends not washing them but instead placing them in the freezer!

According to Jandira Barone you simply need to place the jeans in a bag and leave in the freezer for 24 hours to kill any bacteria. The freezing and thawing is also said to soften the fabric and help it to mould itself to your body.

Of course freezing won’t remove stains – but Tristar sees that as a plus. After all, we pay large amounts for pre “stained” and otherwise damaged jeans, why not have our own unique design created by out own lives? But just in case, the jeans are also double sided and reversible!
